I searched around and I can't file anything about this issue. I hope that I am just doing something wrong or have it setup wrong. I had to add a file field to the conference contribution content type and named it field_file. I would think that it would be fine, it uploads to the server however the contribution isn't added. Instead I get and error that says, "Please attach the abstract as a doc / pdf". This happens no matter what the file type is, .doc or whatever. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Also, why is it that an abstract only allows .doc and .pdf? Does it have to have a file at all? Obviously the full paper should be able to have any file type I want but the abstract isn't cooperation.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

-Matt

I figured it out. I wasn't supposed to add my own file field. Instead you are supposed to enable the core Upload module and it picks up the files from that. I didn't really see anything about that in the documentation though I may have missed it. If possible could you maybe make that clearer so others don't get confused? I would even maybe set it as a dependency because I don't think you can do anything without attachments. That way no one would accidentally do what I did as it would make them enable it when enabling the Conference module.

Thanks!

To resolve this the dependency on the Upload module should be included in the conference.info file.
