No newsletter to choose from

I followed the instructions to send a newsletter, but when it came to selecting the newsletter to send, nothing was available to choose from. I had to back out. It may have been that my newsletter was not yet published.
So, I published the newsletter, and went back to try again, but now the view is no longer visible in the first selection step.
What should i do now?
