Any chance of getting this module to work like the one in Scoop, or dailykos.com?

Or a cheat version, where basically, users get a chance to recommend diaries (simple "yes" to recommend) to the front page, but the max length of time it stays on that block is 24 hours?

Might be willing to "donate" to the developer, and I'm sure others would as well.

Did you check nmoderation module?

Please describe in more detail what you mean, instead of pointing to a site.

Not to say that I commit to doing it, but rather that the clearer it is the more likely me or someone else will contribute a patch for it.
