Just spent a couple of hours trying to debug this on. If your sites offline (maintenance mode) then you'll get a 503 error from apache!! Put the site back online and this module works like a champ. Can you add my tip to the main page so others wont spend hours trying to debug.

WORKAROUND: Use some code in your .htaccess to take your site offline rather than using the maintenance mode:

Thanks for the module :) works great!

Thanks man!

Your post saved me a lot of work searching where the 503 error came from.

This issue can't be fixed. Just go online of you want to upload images.

Good post ThaboGoodDogs!

That's absolutely true grandcat, but still I think you should display this on the project's homepage.

I don't think that this issue is so important to be shown on the project page because the maintenance mode is thought for updates only.

Hello Grandcat,

I ran into this problem while building a new website, that I - for the time being untill release - kept in maintenance modus. So, I can imagine there are more cases when developers can run into this problem.

It's up to you to decide how important this is.

Well I didn't spend hours, but I did spend an hour thinking the module was broke. Thank you ThaboGoodDogs for this post. There's not enough exclamation points and capital letters in the world to express how thankful I am that this didn't turn into an all night issue.
