My question is regarding the disabling of the Large picture that is found on every page of the theme.

I could not find any straight forward documentation as to how I can remove / disable this..

I change the picture h_back.jpg to a thin blank picture, but the space is still occupied..

How can I disable this - I don't want a large picture occupying that space, i figured it was a block in the "feature" region, but apparently not..

You have to hack the page.tpl.php file and remove the markup for the Feature box. I will add a setting to enable/disable the box and image in a future release.
