I used FeedAPI, CCK and Views to create a regularly updated slideshow of images from a group on Flickr.
I placed this View in the right sidebar of a Flexible Panel. http://www.taipeitechclub.com/ (Slideshow)
By default all of the Feed Items are "Published".
If I see a particular image that I want to write about, I will edit the "Publishing options" as "Promoted to front page."
But when I turn on the filter to exclude items "Promoted to front page", the image still shows up in the Slideshow. (First image starts out as 2 of 10, but users can click back to 1.)
I've attached a screenshot of my View.
Is there a way to configure the View to ensure that items marked "Promoted to front page" are excluded from the Slideshow?

merlinofchaos commentedThis one is confusing, but I do notice that the filters on your block are overridden; they are not the same filters on the page. Is the Slideshow using the block or is it using one of the other displays?

spangaroo commentedThank you for your reply merlinofchaos. Yes the Slideshow on the front page is using the block display.
I realized that it wasn't really a Views issue, but the way that I had the content type configured. I explained the workaround a little bit over here: http://drupal.org/node/614436
I've also attached a screenshot of all 3 of my Views for this FeedAPI + Emfield configuration. Not sure if it's the most effective way to configure the View, but it seems to be working so far.
Thanks again for your help.
