Is this module supposed to install module security updates?

I thought that when modules require new security updates they would be listed in the install updates section of the plugin manager. Instead, when I click the "install updates" button, it says everything is up to date (it's not). Am I doing something wrong, or am I misunderstanding what this module is supposed to be able to do?
