In terms of personal qualifications, I'm a Zend Certified Engineer with over a year of Drupal coding experience, with a heavy emphasis on FormAPI-based solutions. I work as a sysadmin for a major public university that is currently rolling out Drupal as its official campus-wide CMS; in that capacity, I've put together a number of custom modules to help our users administer their sites more effectively, but I'd like to contribute to the larger Drupal community as part of that process. The exportables work mentioned above would be a significant contribution, benefitting both us and lots of other Drupal users relying on features.
Thanks!
Adam

Thanks for getting back to me. I understand that I am required to upload my intended contribution; however, since I am only intending to modify an existing module (exportables, as described in #596538: API documentation and error-handling), I'm not entirely sure what would be an appropriate upload here. Should I make my intended modifications to the module and then upload that? My only concern with that approach is that it will be unclear what part of the upload is my contribution and what is the original module; is that a problem?
Also, I have already done some of my intended contributing work in the form of a patch in #544204: Integration with features module?. Anything I upload here will include that patch, along with other contributions intended to resolve the issue in which the maintainer agreed I could co-maintain the module.
I apologize for needing clarification here; I just want to make sure I upload the right thing. I've read through the application instructions thoroughly, and with all the warnings in there about bad motivation messages I wanted to make sure I get it right :)
Unless I hear otherwise, I will upload a modified version of the exportables module later so you can get a sense of the contributions I'd like to make.
Thanks!
Adam
