Isn't this speaking for itself?? Well, for those who haven't got a clue where I am talking about, take a look at:
http://nocc.sourceforge.com/
http://www.horde.com/

I think this is a really nice feature, that is a *must* add, because of the 'community'-idea we are talking about...

But, maybe i am wrong... ;-)

Both of the example links are invalid making it impossible to know what functionality is being requested. I've marked it postponed, in hopes that the author will return and explain his/her desired functionality.

http://www.horde.org

That is correct site address author meant
Horde is a framework for other PHP applications. For example fine webmail IMP

It would be very nice to have a possibility to integrate Horde/IMP into drupal.
I mean, when I log in to drupal, I automatically log in to Horde/IMP also

Hope this clarifies a little bit
regards

I'm working on this now. Expect a basic independent webmail implementation for Drupal within the next 2 months, a fully fledged fabulous singing dancing version by Christmas.. Use my contact form if you have questions, suggestions or comments. Quick heads up though, I may not call it webmail.module, however seeing as it seems Drupal currently doesn't have any webmail functionality built in this should make headlines and be easy to find when it's launched. Watch this space..

Just an update to say development is going well, if anybody has suggestions for features or specific functionality please email me and I'll include what I can if appropriate. Estimated release date for comprehensive addressbook, inbox and compose portions of this project is 1st July 2005. Feel free to contact me with any queries in the meantime.

Check out www.whalemail.org for more details on the progress of this module.

www.whalemail.org/user will allow you to sign up and test the module.

www.whalemail.org/user and www.whalemail.org/user/ seem to redirect to your hosting login.

Could you help me out? I'm interested in seeing how this is coming along.

I'm also interested in this module.
Any ETA of a beta-release date yet?

I don't know how difficult it would be, but i have another suggestion:
Would it be able to have the ability for any user to sign up for a free horde mail account, and have it activate immediately after he receives a confirmation email?

Thanks
jacauc

I have a webmail module that I shall be rolling out in a few days or so if anyone is interested. Currenlty you can view emails, view html emails, view/download attachments, and setup IMAP and POP3 accounts.

Subscribing... so many starts, no finishes, huh? (Is there a project other than "Drupal" to select for requests for new contrib modules?)

UPDATE: There is one being worked on– http://drupal.org/project/webmail
