This module could be useful for all sorts of e-commerce web sites. Could it be extended to offer EAN-13 bar codes as well as UPC-12 for those of us based in Europe.

Actually, upcfield currently only produces EAN-13 barcodes. UPC-A and EAN-13 are virtually interchangeable these days.

I would recommend that you checkout the Barcode Module before trying out this module though. It seems to be much more exhaustive in its feature set.
