User Created Taxonomy Permissions

Is there a way to have a user create a taxonomy term and be given permissions right after creating the term?

Here's my situation:

I've given each user access to a parent Term. I want them to be able to create as many children terms as they want. This module does great at limiting each user to only view which terms they have permissions to see, but I'm having a hard time getting the system to allow users to see terms they've just created under that parent term.

Any advice?
