The Endorsements module allows users to endorse each other. The module creates a tags taxonomy field reference instance attached to the user entity and allows other users to create endorsements for any term that the user has tagged themselves with.
The display of endorsements is managed by a taxonomy term reference field display formatter that provides two modes: short and long. The short format displays the term prepended with the count of accepted endorsements. The long format also includes thumbnail user pictures of the most recent endorsers along with a handy little button to add your own endorsement for each term.
Users can manage their endorsements via a tab on the user profile page. Access is controlled by a set of permissions on the standard permissions admin page.
Note: At this time, the Endorsements module is more than a sandbox project but less than a fully maintained development release. You are welcome to use it and make suggestions but until I have more time to devote to it outside of the larger project context that I developed it for, issues posted without patches are likely to sit for a while. I apologize in advance, but at least you know.
