This patch creates a new type of lightbox formatter called 'Compact'. The compact formatter shows only the first image of a multiple image field but if you click the image thumbnail you can see all the images by browsing within the lightbox.

waltf CreditAttribution: waltf commentedCould u explain how this works, and where i should find this compact formatter?
Are u talking about Content: Picture Lightbox2: Crop->original Compact because this is not working for me.
Still all images are been shown.

Alex72RM CreditAttribution: Alex72RM commentedIt works.
You should check "Group multiple values" and maintain void value into "show ____ value(s)".

anyone else have this problem?

stella CreditAttribution: stella commentedThis seems to work quite well, however it only works for the regular lightbox formatter, and not for the lightshow, or even all the regular lightbox combinations. I've extended the patch to cover these two scenarios and committed it. It will be included in the next official release. Thanks!

Katrina B CreditAttribution: Katrina B commentedI've run into a problem with this: If I use the compact slideshow for teasers, so that more than one compact slideshow is visible on the same page (for example, on a page that lists teasers for blog entries), then every slideshow picks up the rest of the photos in the other slideshows on the page.
Any suggestions?

stella CreditAttribution: stella commented@Katrina B: change your CCK display settings at admin/settings/lightbox2 so the grouping includes the node id. That way it will only group together images from the same node which should solve your problem. If you continue to have problems, please open a new issue - this one is now closed.
