The overwhelming majority of drupal end users are not into Drupal 6 yet.
The overwhelming majority of drupal production sites are D 5.x

If a D 5.x version of this add-on would not be an immense undertaking, many D 5.x users (including me) would be elated to have such a version :)

Not to lessen the request, but you'd better make sure that the "overwhelming majority" statement isn't just a plain guess - otherwise, someone might come by and post a link to http://drupal.org/project/usage/drupal
