BG works fine to display Picasa albums, but not when the albums are unlisted in Picasa.
It would be nice if this could be implemented. The difference in RSS link is:
listed album: http://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user//albumid/5317824772522103211?alt=rss&kind=photo&hl=nl
unlisted album: http://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user//albumid/5317824772522103211?alt=rss&kind=photo&authkey=Gv1sRgCP7OvNX2yfL43gE&hl=nl
So an authkey is added.
If the URL is entered in a browser it works fine, but not via the Brilliant Gallery tag.
Thanks.

iamalwayslost commentedThanks. this exactly solved my problem.
I listed all my albums on picasa and now they work no problems.

vacilando commentedPreviously I wrote only public, rather than private, Picasa galleries could be viewed using BG, but you made me realize there is a third category -- that of 'unlisted' albums.
In fact that works very well (not sure why it did not work for Stef01, guess for another reason), and it is a good alternative when you need to display a gallery which you don't want people to access at Picasa for some reason.
I have updated the documentation in the sense of mentioning visualization of 'unlisted' Picasa albums as well.
