Thanks for your work on this. I am attempting to use it to format a message to my users that will represent an EVite.

Thusfar I have not been able to get the emails to take the Background color or image tags. Is this supported?

I'm fairly certain this module is for helping create chunks of plain-text. So I suspect it won't be able to help you format emails to have images or background colors.

Yes, this module is for converting HTML to plain text; http://drupal.org/project/mimemail is probably closer to what you need.
