More Like This: Display related content from various providers on your nodes
Overview
More Like This is a module which provides a framework for incorporating content from various sources/providers such as:
- Internal Taxonomy search
- Flickr image search
- Google Video search
- Yahoo BOSS Web/News search
- Yahoo BOSS Image search
When editing a node, you can provide keywords that are used to return related content from a configurable subset of these providers. Videos are returned from Google Video, images returned from Flickr, stories from Yahoo BOSS web/news search, etc.
Calais Integration
If you are using the Calais modules, you can use the semantic metadata applied to your nodes to pre-fill your More Like This keywords/terms with the Calais terms which are deemed most relevant.
Configuration
General
There are a number of configurable settings that can be adjusted to fine-tune the determination of which Calais terms are "worthy" of inclusion in the set of More Like This ultimately passed off to content providers, including:
Pre-populate with Calais Suggestions
Provides the ability to pre-fill applied MLT terms using eligible Calais terms by simply checking a box on a node's edit page (relevancy threshold below determines eligibility).
Global Term Relevancy Threshold
Calais' web service not only returns suggested terms based upon a semantic evaluation of your content -- it also provides a relevancy score associated with each term.
This variable determines how relevant a Calais term must be in order to be suggested for inclusion in the MLT terms.
Flickr
More Like This Flickr allows you to incorporate photos from Flickr on a node page, by passing the applied MLT terms to the Flickr service as keywords, etc.
Enabled Node Types
Select the node types that can display the Flickr MLT block.
Search Parameters (Flickr API Settings)
# of Photos
Number of photos to display.
Safe Search
Adjust the filters used to prevent objectionable photos from surfacing on your site.
Tag Search Mode
Use "Any" to include photos matching any combination of MLT terms applied to a node, and use "All" to only include photos matching EVERY MLT term applied.
Size Suffixes
Choose a sizing constraint for photos returned by Flickr.
Google Video
More Like This Google Video allows you to incorporate content from Google Video on a node page, using the applied MLT terms that meet the Term Relevancy Threshold for MLT Google Video requirement.
Enabled Node Types
Designate a set of content types that will support More Like This Google Video.
Google Video Bar Settings
Result Set Size
Define the maximum number of results returned by Google Video (small = 4 results, large = 8 results).
Orientation
Choose an orientation for the video bar (horizontal row or vertical column).
Video Bar Cycle Time
Define the amount of time that elapses between refresh cycles (i.e. results set is larger than the number of videos that can be shown at once).
Video Bar Cycle Mode
Choose between random and sequential cycles.
Use Status Root
Allow users to manually advance the rotation by clicking on links that correspond to the MLT terms utilized.
Status Root CSS ID
HTML ID for this container of the status root.
Video Bar CSS ID
HTML ID for this container of the video bar.
MLT Taxonomy
More Like This Taxonomy allows you to define the types/amount/relevancy of related nodes presented while actively viewing the node at hand.
Content type-specific settings
Define the parameters used to identify related content when the node at hand is of this type.
Enable More Like This Taxonomy
Enable More Like This Taxonomy functionality for this content type.
Target Content Types
Choose which content types should be included in the search for nodes having MLT terms in common with this particular node.
Number of results
Define the maximum number of results that can be returned by More Like This.
Node Relevancy Threshold for MLT Taxonomy
Set a minimum relevancy score that must be met in order for a match to be created. Uses a 0.00-1.00 scale based on percentage of matching terms, 0.00 being least relevant (i.e. large number of loosely-related matches returned).
Node Relevancy = (# of applied MLT terms for node at hand matching Calais terms applied to another node) / (total # of applied MLT terms for node at hand)
For example, if 2 of 3 applied MLT terms for the node at hand matched the applied Calais terms for another node, the relevancy score would be 0.67.
Yahoo! BOSS
More Like This Yahoo! BOSS allows you to incorporate content from Yahoo! BOSS on a node page, by passing the applied MLT terms to the Yahoo! BOSS service along with the parameters defined below.
