Anybody know how to do this in the css?

I'd like to keep the main menu item highlighted as I'm scrolling through a submenu below.

Any solution for that?

When using the primary menu as a two-level static menu the first level is deselected when a second level item is clicked. It should stay selected.

This obviously doesn't involve modifying the CSS but you should be able to use the context module, I got this working in D7.
