Manage Top Bar

The Top Bar from the Navigation module provides a new way to administer and manage a Drupal site.

There are three areas where it can be configured: Tools, Context, and Actions.

Manage Top Bar provides a way to customize these items through the UI.

Tools
- View page as anonymous
- Toggle navigation show/hide

Context
- Toggle title display on non entity routes
- Badge display options - status/type/language/none

Actions
- Preserve local tasks everywhere or per route
- Turn local actions into featured action buttons
- Configure featured actions w/ custom icon and label
- Configure top bar show/hide on routes

Additional
- Right click on top bar to configure, toggle label display
- Hide empty top bar
- Disable top bar
- Hide on scroll down, show on scroll up

This is a solution for #3564079: Provide a way to prevent the navigation bar taking over local tasks and #3590502: Move local tasks out of the more actions button into the content header on admin pages.

The third screenshot shows preserved local actions (no dropdown).

Post-Installation

Go to Configuration > User Interface > Manage Top Bar.

Add this action to set the layout tab as a featured action:
layout_builder.overrides.*.view

Theme Flip (if needed).
