Problem/Motivation

A read of the French catalog against the strings it carries found nine defects. One of them an operator sees directly.

untranslated.txt drew its line at "inside a logger call". On a DrushCommands subclass $this->logger() is the console logger: it writes to the terminal of the person who typed the command. So ten Drush sentences were listed as log messages and left in English, sitting beside their own output()->writeln() neighbors in the same methods, which were translated. One purge run prints its preview in French and its result in English.

Four entries say the wrong thing. The state-label token description lists four states the token never emits, naming En cours / Termine / Annule / Echoue where the labels the engine produces are En cours d'execution / Terminee / Annulee / En echec. The word "terminal" in the two purge previews is rendered "terminee", which is this catalog's word for Completed alone, so the preview reads as excluding canceled and failed runs. The person who filed a run is called "la personne qui l'a initialisee", which is initialized rather than filed, while the config schema label three screens away already says "deposee". And "completed" is rendered once as the anglicism "complete", against "traite" everywhere else, in a description whose own sibling entry already has the right wording.

Four concepts carry two or three French words each: join is both jointure and jonction, email is both e-mail and courriel, dead-lettered has three renderings, and optional has two.

Two constructions are not French. A detached past participle has to agree with the subject of the clause it introduces, and two help texts open with "Laissee vide" agreeing with nothing that follows. And six entries make "vide" the subject of a verb, copying an English ellipsis that French does not have.

Finally the two cross-references to the assignee field name it two different ways, neither of which is that field's French label.

Proposed resolution

Translate all ten Drush sentences and reword the block heading in untranslated.txt to the test that actually separates the two cases: who reads it, not which call it sits in.

Correct the four wrong entries, sweep each split concept to one word, give the participles and the elliptical clauses their subjects back, and name the cross-referenced field by the label the reader can see.

Release notes snippet

The Drush commands now print entirely in French on a French site, rather than mixing translated and untranslated lines in one command run. Several French entries that named the wrong state, used the wrong verb, or used two words for one concept have been corrected.

AI-Generated: Yes (Claude Code was used to help draft this issue summary and to write the catalog changes on the merge request. I reviewed the French myself, and the project's own translation check reports every string translated in the catalog of the project that ships it.)
