Glossary definitions are displayed in search results

When searching for a term, and that term is in the glossary, the short summary that appears beneath each search result contains the glossary definition, even though it is not supposed to be present on the page. I have a feeling this is being generated by the glossary input filter, but I don't know what could be done to overcome this.
