The canvas_dev_er module was the feature flag that https://www.drupal.org/project/canvas/releases/1.7.0 introduced to test Canvas' "Content Entity Reference prop type" support ahead of on-by-default support.

The functionality has been released; hence the feature flag module has been deprecated.
