Problem/Motivation

The Varbase 9.2.x line supports Drupal ~11.3 and drops Drupal ~10. The vardot/varbase-project template needs a matching 9.2.x branch that requires vardot/varbase:9.2.x-dev on Drupal ~11.3.

The automated functional acceptance tests should live in varbase_project and run in GitLab CI with webship-js, as done for 11.0.x in #3592934.

Proposed resolution

  • Start a 9.2.x branch of varbase_project; require vardot/varbase:9.2.x-dev and set drupal/core-composer-scaffold + drupal/core-project-message to ~11.3.0.
  • Switch CI from CircleCI to GitLab CI and run the automated functional acceptance testing with webship-js (port from 11.0.x).
  • Move the automated functional tests from the varbase profile into varbase_project, migrated from Behat .feature to webship-js.

The automated functional acceptance tests will be migrated from Behat to webship-js (Playwright + Cucumber-js) and run in GitLab CI, as done for 11.0.x in #3592934.
