Hi @nicholass! Thanks for reaching out. I did see pdf_services and did some testing with it. I couldn't quite get the Adobe API Key connected and scanning PDFs. For my use case, I wanted to avoid requiring an Adobe account, but I was hopeful for the more advanced scanning they promised.

I've been contacted a couple of folks at this point with similar PDF scanning solutions that all popped up within the last few months. I assume that like me, it is stemming from a desire to help organizations address the upcoming DOJ ADA ruling deadline.

I can definitely see an org with an existing Adobe contract pushing for this use, even if I'm not a fan of the embedded viewer or modal features. I'd be curious how those tested out with a screen reader.

I'll add your module to my description as another option with a slightly different use case.

Yeah Not saying mine is the best, but yeah we were accelerated into creating it due to the same DOJ rules and deadline.

The main reason we went with Adobe is that it would match staff's use of Acrobat Pro, prior we used a different library but found the ADA results were not identical to Acrobats which caused issues when people tried to remediate them.

We actually have now scanned over 15k worth of uploads which is wild... Hitting all sorts of edge cases, corrupted files, pdfs 10+years old in really wild formats, locked/secure pdfs etc.

The adobe embedded viewer, we use tools like Acquia Site Governance and it hasn't flagged any issues, but I will admit we never dived deep into manually testing that, were I guess banking on the fact Adobe implemented things correctly.

With your solution do you think the scan results somewhat align with Acrobats "Accessibility Review" results?

Just out of curiosity have you ran across any AI pdf remediation tools, closest I was able to find was this https://www.remediate-pdf.com/home (https://github.com/ASUCICREPO/PDF_Accessibility) but manually testing it with some sample files they were better but not fully remediated :(
