instead of having just a upload field for the image, can you have a URL link field so we can use external image server for the images??

that is detect for the input field being used and then output it to html

I've decided that this is outside the scope of the avatar selection module. To implement it would require a major change to the code, for a feature which the majority of users won't need. It's also not how the module is intended to work. So sorry, but I won't be adding this feature.
