Short Description: Hands-on exploration and evaluation of Symfony AI capabilities
Check-in Date: MM/DD/YYYY
[/Tracker]
Problem/Motivation
As part of the exploratory phase for a potential migration of Drupal AI to Symfony AI, contributors need a shared, practical understanding of what Symfony AI provides today.
While high-level documentation and architectural descriptions are useful, they are not sufficient on their own to evaluate real-world suitability. Developers working on Drupal AI need to actively explore Symfony AI by reading documentation, reviewing source code, and running small experiments to understand its APIs, supported features, and design assumptions.
This issue exists to encourage hands-on exploration of Symfony AI so that subsequent research and planning issues are grounded in practical experience rather than assumptions.
Proposed resolution
- Ask contributors to read through Symfony AI documentation and review the overall architecture.
- Encourage setting up a minimal local environment to try Symfony AI in practice.
- Explore, at a high level:
- The Symfony AI Platform and its provider abstraction.
- The Symfony AI Store and supported vector database integrations.
- Symfony AI Agents and chat-related functionality.
- Document findings, impressions, limitations, and open questions discovered during exploration.
- Focus on understanding capabilities and constraints, not on implementing Drupal integrations.
- Feed results back into the exploratory roadmap and related research issues.
- This issue was created with the help of AI

b_sharpe commentedWon't assign to me as I know Artem and others are likely also doing this. Will post findings once properly documented and continue conversations in slack.
