Problem:

Content types are not included in the Simple XML Sitemap by default.

How to fix it

  1. Go to /admin/config/search/simplesitemap/entities (Configuration > Search and Metadata > Simple XML Sitemap and click on the "Inclusion" tab.
  2. In the Enabled column, check for the rows Content, Custom menu link, and Taxonomy term.
  3. Click the "Regenerate all sitemaps after hitting Save" toggle
  4. Once that completes, verify the new items are now in the sitemap by visiting /sitemap.xml
