Hi guys, not sure if I did the above part right, but I hope so... I have a request for mypage.

Mypage is very close to what I believe a lot of people who use drupal are looking for, namely, a page their users can edit, however, I have some idea that I thought I would run by you.

1) MyPage = real my page ... -

By this I mean, a user can use this page to show information about him/her to other people (Take myspace.com for example) . On the build my page screen, it would offer the user the ability to
a) change the background of their page
b) edit their blogs directly into "their page" (Could get rid of blogs altogether that way)
c) edit into the page such things as images, sound bites...etc. FckEditor is pretty much perfect
for this other than doing the background change and such.
d) have my page completely replace the normal user profile page. (Other than for admin purposes) so that when USER A clicks on USER B in the member list, it takes USER A directly to USER B's mypage, where they can read user b's blogs, look at his pictures, add himself to buddy list...etc

I know this is a lot to ask, and it has probably been asked before, but it is something I believe is really needed, not just for myself either, I have seen many simular requests on here. MyPage is the closest kind of module I have seen to what I actually need.

First of all, I'll just start by saying I wrote Mypage while I was in school... I've since graduated and unfortunately, I have been unable to do any Drupal development in months, and probably won't anytime soon. So anyone out there, please feel free to pick up this module and build upon it. I'd like to see it live on, but I can't update for 4.6, 4.7, etc, every few months.

Jax, what you are asking for would be popular, however it is not what I was aiming for, nor is it something essential for the sites I built on Drupal. I wanted a way to make it easier for users to prioritize existing content (i.e. they choose what taxonomies to see on their Mypage). You are asking for a publishing platform like Myspace. Although this is an interesting idea, it is not something desired or necessary for my sites.

So, to sum up, I will not be doing any work to provide a module like what you've described. I'd repost in the general forums, hopefully someone else will pick up on the idea and take a stab at it. You'd be wise to give it a try, believe me coding Drupal can be challenging but there is a method to it all and you may find you can go beyond your initial ideas. Drupal is an amazing platform, I wish I cold devote more time to it and continue with some of the other projects I've started. Unfortunately, post-school, I've hardly got any time for anything at all, including Drupal.
