I am familiar with Drupal and enjoy working with it for my own stuff as a hobby, but don't want to get into it with my friends due to time constraints with my real job. I run a hand tool woodworking site at www.unpluggedshop.com

From time to time, I am contacted by woodworkers and backyard hand tool makers for information or help concerning their website. While I am usually happy to write back a quick reply, usually I see three things.

One they are way in over their heads unless they really want to dedicate some serious time. Two, their needs really are quite simple and mostly all within the same simple parameters as far as needed functionality. Third, Drupal would be a perfect solution for most of them if they had someone to set up the site (including content structuring) and maintain the site as well as offering email support. Also, the sites nearly all low traffic.

What I am looking for is someone who will offer "cookie cutter" sites tailor for arts and crafts type sites at a reasonable setup (probably not more than US$200-300) and monthly fee (probably not more than US$20-40).

Basically you would need to have a basic "craft site install" and work with the client as far as how to organize his site and best present his offerings. Woodworkers are nice people to work with, and this step is essential. I expect it would take 4-8 hours for the average site setup, most of which would be spent working directly with the client. These guys would really appreciate you taking the time to get to understand their needs in the beginning. After that, they probably won't need a lot of help except for regular maintenance or new features. One of the major reasons I recommend professional help is that woodworkers usually need some guidance in how to structure the site and usability issues.

Understand I am not offering work directly through me or my site. I don't want a commission. I am quite happy doing my own site.

I am looking for someone to contact me with information on how they can meet the needs of this user group. If you want to get into it, and if you can demonstrate your qualifications, and how you can meet an appropriate price point, I would like to be able to recommend you to these guys to help them get their sites up to par.

Also, I hate to mention this, but for this job, your written and spoken English needs to be perfect.

Luke

If you want a "ready to go" install of Drupal that will be properly maintained see Bryght.com for their turn key solution. You can try the service for free. For the consulting work I would recommend finding a good freelancer with a few hours to spare. Best of luck!

I will post something if and when I finalize this. Until then I don't mind being contacted about this job.

However, I have already been contacted by a few people and will be looking at those options before looking at any new ones.

Also, thanks for the "Bryght" suggestion. I had heard of them, but was never able to get a very good handle on what they really do from the website.

Thanks
