Use Linkit with link fields

Linkit version 6 added support to use its autocomplete features within Drupal link fields. This process involves configuring the link field to use the widget and formatter provided by Linkit:

1. Navigate to Configuration > Content Authoring > Linkit (/admin/config/content/linkit) to configure one or more "Profiles" to be used with your link field(s). Under the "Manage matchers" tab, set which entity types and bundles will be provided as autocomplete suggestions, as well as other display configuration.

2. On a new or existing link field's widget configuration page (Structure > Content Types > Manage fields > Manage form display), set the widget to "Linkit":

3. Under the form widget "Gears" on that same page, choose the Linkit profile to be used to control which items are available in the autocomplete:
