The sidebar will have new icons with an outlined style for the 1st level / primary items.

Proposed resolution

We need a set of icons that have a neutral tone / style (for example, that they are not "funny"). We also need to define how those icons will be implemented

Issue summary: View changes

After evaluating several Icon Libraries we've decided to go with Phosphor. The main reasons are:

  • It uses a tone that is neutral enough to ship on a UI that can serve projects of any kind.
  • It has more than 7.400 icons so far to choose from. It means that in the future it'll allow any contrib to extend the Navigation by providing a selector and there will be enough options.
  • It has several weights and styles (like filled or duotone), which is a huge plus customization wise.
  • It's licensed under MIT.
  • The library is really balanced and well worked (as there are no bigger or smaller icons, different visual weights...)
