Unit, integration, and system-level (end-to-end) tests have been added, as well as the normal GitLab CI checks. All supported back-ends are covered, and verified working. PHPStan level five was possible, so I went with it. This is now ready for review.

I've merged 3.x into MR 23 (3349331-add-tests) and expanded test coverage over the new Redis 2.x support and settings intake hardening. This is again ready for review.
