Problem/Motivation

It looks like the information provided on module page is not accurate.

Core 9.5 still has its own field layout. It is still marked as experimental not as deprecated.
Core 10 has it also..

The fact is, that it has been decided to remove Field Layout module from core, it just hasn't happened yet, #3007167: [policy] Deprecate field_layout module and move it to contrib.

Steps to reproduce

Search for Field Layout in the search engines, find this page, but also see the module in Drupal 10.1.

Proposed resolution

Add a link to at the top of the project page, and maybe a sentence, that it has been decided to remove it.

The text is technically not correct, since I can also see it in Drupal 10.1, listed under "Core (Experimental)":

Field Layout
Allows users to configure the display and form display by arranging fields in several columns.
Machine name: field_layout
Version: 10.1.0
Requires: Layout Discovery (disabled)

But it has actually been decided to deprecate Field Layout module from Drupal core, it just hasn't happened yet: #3007167: [policy] Deprecate field_layout module and move it to contrib.

A link to that issue could be added at the top of the project page?

Field Layout has been deprecated in 11.3 to be removed in 12.

Project page needs to be updated (and probably the code with what was in core?) Is the maintainer still active on this?

A similar question about maintainership was raised on #3517712: [meta] Tasks to deprecate the Field Layout module. In April 2025, @andypost volunteered to maintain, but time goes on and priorities change. This should probably be split off to a separate issue.
