The v3 to v8 upgrade process is not documented clearly in either the README.md file or the project page. This causes problems for people who run "composer upgrade" and discover they have a new version installed that isn't working anymore.

It might be worth adding an update script to redo the configuration.

I don't think there are any needed steps aside from ensuring 

search:
    version: 8

was added to pantheon.yml file after upgrading the module.
