Roles don’t work in Drupal 6.6

Somewhere along the line Roles no longer work in at least Books in Drupal 6.6

In the Admin/Content management/Books/Access control I select the role to view each book.
Sadly it doesn’t matter what you check everyone gets to view every page of every book.
Cashing is turned off and I cleared the cache with no luck.

Help – I need this module or something like it to keep only those roles I want to view books.

I found out that if I have "Content Access" module activated this module doesn't work. So you have to decide which one you want.
