Problem/Motivation

We've got quite a unique use case. We are sharing configuration between different sites using a default installation profile, with a config split. When exporting the configuration, the module uses that UUID of the authorized user, which would be different for each site.

Proposed resolution

I am suggesting that an option to either would be added:

  • Use an authorized roles instead of Authorized users, or
  • Allow all users who have access to the Channel list permission when none are selected.

Hello,

Thanks for you suggestion, I don't think your use case is unique, maybe others had been scripting without creating an issue before.

In your installation profile, you can script the creation of a dedicated user with a specific UUID so your configuration will always be good.

You can also provide a patch for this feature :)

MR created with tests.

I will not merge it because it could be disruptive for existing websites, channels without authorized users, with all of a sudden accessible.

So I think additional config needs to be set/save.

And it should be an OR between the access conditions because I can already see issues coming asking for that...

- checkbox : all users with the permission "Access channels list"
- checkboxes : all users with the following roles (only roles with the permission "Access channels list" are listed)
- checkboxes : authorized users (with the permission "Access channels list")
