Carousel Item entity type needs to be installed

It's strange, I tried reproduce an issue, I've installed v1.43 and v1.2 version, added some slides, after that I've updated the module to 1.62 version, and all works as expected.
So if you can re-add your slider I would suggest to remove module through admin panel, after that remove module through ftp (dir and files). Then install the latest module version v1.62. I believe it should help.
Also you can do dump of `bootstrap_simple_carousel` table, to save your slides.

If you have a time, I would to have a php logs and some screenshots from admin panel and site itself (where block is showed). Also screenshot of `bootstrap_simple_carousel`.

The issue can be related to incorrect update. For example you did not remove old version, but just replaced it. Because there are new files in new version and some files were deleted, it might be confusion. Anyway let me know, please, is it helped or not.

Any progress on this? I am getting the same Carousel Item Mismatched entity and/or field definitions error. I recall doing an update a while back but did not notice the error until today. I update via composer/drush.

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it, is it is still reproduced on your site, could you send me full module code?
if you can a dump of table 'bootstrap_simple_carousel` and I'll try to reproduce it.
Also if you remember describe all the steps:

which version was before update?
how many time you use it?
which is the version after update?
Did you update module before?
something else

Hoping to get some guidance:

- By full module code, do you mean a copy of the files in the module directory "bootstrap_simple_carousel"?
- And by dump of table you mean from the actual table in mysql labeled bootstrap_simple_carousel? I think there are 4 entries with 9 columns.

By posting, I assume you mean the upload feature on this page. I don't see any sensitive information in the table so I assume it is safe to post. But never done it before so any help would be appreciated. Would presumably zip the director files, correct?

As for your questions:

- I use the module on 4 of my sites and all four are reporting the error. None of the sites gets much traffic (10 to 50 hits a day).
- All are showing Version: 8.x-1.62. I am pretty diligent about updating my sites, so I assume it was an update from the most recent version. However, if there is a way to tell (e.g., a log file of updates) I am not sure where to look.
- I've been using the module for at least 2 years on at least one of the four sites (judging by my archives). I would have updated as needed over the years if available but have no recollection of how many times.

yeah, you are right, I mean module files in the module directory "bootstrap_simple_carousel". You can send it in prefer way for you, for instance, zip file or link on any filesharing service like "google drive", "one drive" and etc. It make sense if issue still reproduced on your site/sites.

for dump a table you can use any program that works from db, for instance "mysql workbench", "heidi sql" or "phpmyadmin", but if you are not able to do it, you can take a screenshot with data and send me, in case there are only 4 records, it's suitable.\

I'm not sure that drupal has a logs about previous module versions, but anyway, if you update your modules as soon as possible, looks like that update was from previous module version.

After you send me files, to fix issue, you can just reinstall module, I mean, remove it and install again.
Unfortunately in this case, all slides from db, will be lost, so you should add it manually again, don't forget to save them somehow.

So the issue is related to drupal core update, a behavior about installing entities was changed,
in details you can read here: https://www.drupal.org/node/3034742
but in short words: Starting with 8.7.0, Drupal core no longer provides support for automatic entity updates, it has to be done with an explicit update function in module itself.

The fix already available in version 8.x-1.63. After you update on it, you should run an update db script: https://hostname/update.php
