| katannshaw | Hello. |
| shaal | Hello |
| Indrajith KB | Hi Everyone... |
| mherchel | Morning! |
| AmyJune (volkswagenchick she/her) | Heyo! Happy MOnday! |
| brianperry | Why hello there. |
| thejimbirch | Hi Hi! |
| anmolgoyal74 | Hello everyone! |
| proeung | Hi All! |
| Ruchi | Hi Everyone!! |
| anjalivijay | Hi everyone  |
| hansa11 | Hello everyone! |
| mansoor20 | Hi  |
| gaurav mahlawat | Hello. |
| mherchel | Slow but steady progress. @lauriii and I sprint a couple hours earlier this month working and committing a couple issues. However, I’m still waiting a number of accessibility maintainer reviews (they’re super busy people) and getting stuff committed doesn’t happen too often. My thought at this point is that we probably won’t make it to stable in 9.2 :disappointed:I’m going to try to do my best, but this depends on lots of volunteers (other than me) who are also really busy people |
| mherchel | The meta issue is at #3177296: [META] Make Olivero stable |
| katannshaw | @mherchel I can volunteer some of my time towards reviewing tickets again. |
| mherchel | that would definitely help. At this point we need a lot of specific sign off from the accessibility maintainer team. But it would really help if you could find holes in things so that we know they’re perfect by the time they get to reviewing them |
| katannshaw | I can do that. Hopefully the accessibility maintainer team can volunteer their time for that sign off that's needed. :crossed_fingers: |
| proeung | I'll be dedicating sometime this week to review and test some of @mherchel’s PRs that are ready. |
| mtift | Any issue that folks want to discuss? |
| mtift | A few of us are going to try and do some sprinting at MidCamp |
| mherchel | This is super exciting! We’re going to put together a specific MidCamp Olivero Testing Sprint! |
| mherchel | where we write core tests just for Olivero |
| mtift | This is the relevant issue: #3174107: Add additional testing coverage for Olivero |
| mherchel | @mglaman volunteered to do two sessions:Getting up and running on Nightwatch (on your local)Writing your first Olivero test |
| mherchel | Then the next day, we’re actually going to sprint on the tests |
| mglaman | :muscle: already started the local repo for it |
| mherchel | This is a big blocker for core inclusion, so I’ll be happy to get it behind me! |
| mherchel | and I’m excited to write nightwatch tests! I’ve never done it before |
| brianperry | Actually Nightwatch sessions Thursday, Sprint Saturday. |
| mherchel | ahhh |
| mherchel | We need a blog post. Want me to start one? |
| brianperry | That would be great. |
| mtift | Yeah, it wold be nice to have a place to send folks |
| mherchel | k |
| brianperry | Re: #3174107: Add additional testing coverage for Olivero My assumption is that would be covered by phpunit functional tests rather than. Nightwatch. If that is correct, we should probably create a new issue for Nightwatch tests. |
| brianperry | Would also be a good place to document some of the different things we'd want to cover with Nightwatch. |
| mherchel | I have one specific issue in mind. We definitely need to clarify |
| brianperry | Excited to learn/sprint with everyone. |
| mtift | Me, too |
| mtift | Do we have a date/time set? |
| mglaman | @mherchel want me to cover running Functional tests, too? because I can |
| mherchel | is functional tests PHPUnit? |
| mglaman | PHPUnit Functional test suite I meant |
| mglaman | there’s Functional., FunctionalJavascript. Nightwatch is the better option to FunctionalJavascript here |
| mherchel | Anyway, I think so, but I also want to make sure we have time for everything. Let’s figure this out a bit later. We should prob do some specific planning for this |
| brianperry | I could also talk a bit about what we have in place for Olivero thus far if that helps. |
| mglaman | If we’re just testing markup, Functional. If JS interaction, probs Nightwatch (edited) |
| mglaman | Let me know what you are trying to test and I can help identity the test suite (edited) |
| brianperry | @mglaman Olivero already has some tests (and some new ones in progress) they are all PHPUnit functional tests thus far. |
| thejimbirch | @brianperry Is there a set time for these sessions yet? |
| mglaman | Would nightwatch be for the the whole scrolling to make sure menu collapses and such? |
| thejimbirch | I found a google doc on the site, but doesn’t seem like it is solid. |
| mherchel | yeah, we also have a need to test backwards tabbing in a focus trap |
| mglaman | Times: planning for Thursday AM and after lunch is test writing |
| brianperry | re: date/time Thursday Mar 25. The schedule slots would have us 11-1 and then 2-4 (CST) |
| brianperry | We could ask about instead starting at 10 am if that is better for folks. |
| mglaman | That was my original goal, before I forgot it needed to be in the MIdCamp schedule |
| mglaman | 10-12, 1-3 |
| brianperry | We can plan for that - I'll confirm with the schedule wranglers that it can be accommodated. |
| mherchel | @brianperry @mglaman lets schedule a time to talk about this (maybe with @froboy? ) |
| brianperry | @AmyJune (volkswagenchick she/her) as well. |
| AmyJune (volkswagenchick she/her) | Thank you |
| AmyJune (volkswagenchick she/her) | I feel like they left the 10am slot open to an ALL MidCamp session to get folks aquatinted with the day, maybe? |
| brianperry | I think you're right. 10 AM is just kind of a late kickoff time. Maybe we could split the difference and start at 10:30 or something. |
| mherchel | lets schedule a quick call for mid-afternoon either today or tomorrow (note I’m gone for the latter half of the week) |
| mglaman | ALso: I could find ways to shorten the time. |
| mglaman | so we only need an hour. Or identify first hour is the workshop, second is for additional help |
| brianperry | @froboy was ok with us starting at 10, so we should be all good. |
| froboy | ya'll just might miss some raffle prizes.... :) |
| froboy | @mherchel please ping me when the blog post is up if it doesn't get the RT by @midwestcamp within a few hours. |
| mherchel | @froboy can we post it on the midcamp site so it can get on Drupal Planet? |
| froboy | @mherchel totes. If you make the words I'll get it out there. |
| mglaman | @mherchel I’m all about guerilla marketing, so if you mention my name can you say “of Bluehorn Digital” or from, whatever |
| brianperry | I can put something on the calendar for the follow up discussion - @AmyJune (volkswagenchick she/her) @mherchel @mglaman @froboy- just let me know what email is best to use. |
| mglaman | matt@bluehorn.digital |
| froboy | froboy at gmail |
| AmyJune (volkswagenchick she/her) | volkswagenchickamyjune@gmail.com |
| brianperry | Since I don't have calendar visibility, does 2 Central today or tomorrow work? |
| froboy | Today yes, tomorrow no, but I'm also ok being optional. |
| froboy | https://www.midcamp.org/2021/article/olivero-sprints-midcamp off to the planet! |
| mglaman | Woot! |
