The images at https://www.drupal.org/de/node/3145442 were loading real slow on my home wifi connection (which I admit is not the best) so I checked their sizes:

spring-hero-bg.png is 6.9 MB
best-of-open-source-bg.jpg is 1.3 MB

These should be smaller for faster loading so:

I made spring-hero-bg a jpg at 60% quality which gets us down to 650 KB
I saved best-of-open-source-bg.jpg at 50% which gets us down to 241 KB
