1️⃣ Status update. Let's use this issue to discuss the overall status of the initiative, and we'll discuss specific issues in later threads. How would you describe the progress towards the goal of this initiative in one sentence?

mherchel	Finished the sidebar layout theming #3129667: Add and theme the "First Sidebar" region
mherchel	Which honestly, was kind of a pain in the ass. So, I’m happy it’s done.
mherchel	So, now we’re free to release the first alpha this Friday. Putra and I are going to take that day off and sprint. The alpha release is an extra bullet point coming up

2️⃣ Issue updates and status

Atul Sharma	#3130243: Olivero's default input element background color doesn't differentiate between disabled color
Atul Sharma	I was on this issue with respect to the background element colour and disabled element colour
brianperry	Would be nice to get this one merged in for the Alpha - without it, the theme won't load in the latest D9 beta #3133510: Search Form Blocks Should Not Extend Classy Template
Atul Sharma	we made a progress but are now kind of stuck in reaching a solution for textarea that have editor enabled on them
mherchel	@brianperry that’s a good catch. I haven’t been doing d9 testing. I’ll test that out and get that in

andrewozone	Received good feedback so far for the “Getting Started” content. Would love any additional insight before we aim to wrap up Draft 1 this week: #3095736: Create content for Drupal's initial "Getting started" page (after minimal or standard profile installation)

mherchel	yeah, i’ve been neglecting that one, since it’s more of a ‘refactoring but nothing’s currently broke’ issue
brianperry	Yup - figured it would be a post alpha thing.

3️⃣ Where can people help this week?

mtift (he/him)	We've already mentioned the Friday sprint. If other ideas come to mind, mention them here, please.
mherchel	Keep on keepin’ on. and lots of testing
mherchel	if we could get some testing in on with the minimal profile (as opposed to standard), that’d be awesome
mtift (he/him)	@mherchel Do you mean manual testing, people to write tests, or both?
mherchel	manual. that being said, automated tests would be amazing
mtift (he/him)	That actually sounds like fun. Is there a testing strategy and/or issues related to testing?
mherchel	No :slightly_smiling_face:
mherchel	but we could make some!
mtift (he/him)	Perhaps do some Functional/FunctionalJavascript tests like claro? https://git.drupalcode.org/project/claro/-/tree/8.x-2.x/tests/src
mherchel	yeah. Maybe we could have a meta issue to discuss what needs to be done for testing
