Messages are sometimes only shown after page re-load. Also messages in the entity browser modal push the jsTree view down, and produce a doubled scrollbar.

We could use (pop-up) dialogs showing the messages immediately always or at least in entity browser context.

Yes, the default message is annoying. Are you thinking about toaster type popups? I was thinking to use something similar. I'm not sure which is the most popular library to use - I found two Drupal modules that are using Toastr and Toastify scripts. Toastr seems to be a better one to use but I'm not sure how well it is supported anymore (or it is just so stable, that it doesn't need active support). Bootstrap version would be nice but I think we can't use it separately. Or, just create something from scratch that works for this module only.

I thought of using drupal's dialogs, like we are doing right now, fe. for the Keep selection question.

But I like your idea of a JS library. We could add also an existing module like https://www.drupal.org/project/toastify as optional dependency.

I'm not sure if we can use module, my idea was to use some module that has a library we can use to prevent including multiple toaster libraries if some sites need it somewhere else too.
Modals could be used but due to issues with multiple modals, I would not use them, unless they are really needed.

Title: Move all messages to dialogs » Make sure messages are shown right after action

What if we try to catch all messages and try to render (same messages markup, so visually identical) them inside .browser--listing container? Then we could add some simple slideIn animation and close icon to these messages? Then we don't need any third party stuff or don't need to waste too much time on the UX part.

When catching these messages, we need to do this in two places - when loading file browser (to catch any messages that might appear on the page) and after ajax actions.

Showing them in .browser-listing will not prevent the double scrollbar issue in modals ..

It should really be a goal to have our toolbar always fully visible!
