To my pleasant surprise, I found out that spotify links (either tracks or playlists) can be added when using media library to add them to a node (I am using paragraphs).
It is not possible to add them through the normal media/add/remote_video link. The system reports that Spotify is not supported as a provider.
Spotify media don't get any thumbnail, but do get the proper Name. So they are easily distinguisable when using a List/Table view, but impossible to identify when using a Grid view or after inserted in a paragraph. Please refer to the attached screenshots for a more detailed preview.

bkosborneSomeone created a similar issue to this a week or so after you. I think it's appropriate to have just one issue for this, and that one is written a bit more generically. I hope you don't mind closing this in favor of that one.
