Instead of using $front_page
Alek 2.0 uses $base_path
in page.tpl.php to link to the front page. There is an important different, especially in Drupal 6 where we can use phptemplate_preprocess_page to alter template variables.
I plan to use this theme with the DrupalMU installation profile but it's important that it uses this standard, or else I can't change the title to link to the user's blog instead of the actual homepage.
