panels and css & IE

I'll take a look at this, I love panels also and to be frank I see panels as the future to complex layouts in Drupal - i.e. I hope one day Panels is integrated into the theme layer.

If you or anyone else can point out any specific issues you are having I would love to know, its very hard for me to test every situation so feedback is essential to the development of the theme.

Thank-you for your kind words Pengi - but really, you guys will make the theme great (its already good, but it can be great!) - by giving good feedback on real world problems is the only way to move things forward, so I truly appreciate every bug report and request.

Thanks for pushing me about Panels, I have been thinking about it for some days now so your timing is very good.

Hey pengi, do you have a test site runnging using PR and Panels, I just built a site with Panels (more to get to know them) so I think I'm ready to takle this.

Any update on Panels support. I recently updated a site that's in development and am wondering about Panels support (though Panels isn't really ready for Drupal 6 from what I've been told). BTW this is a great theme and the only one I've found that works flawlessly with advanced forums.

@Eidolon Night - great timing, today I am putting togeathe a test site with Panels and Adv Forum - so I should know pretty soon how things are going.

Im having problems getting panels 2 to display with pixture-reloaded theme in IE6 and IE7, superfish menus are displayed underneath page content and tabs, especially using the advanced profile kit panel, it breaks the whole pages css, anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it.

Everything works fine in Firefox

I'm looking at using panels 2 as well, and having the same problem with superfish menus being displayed under content and tabs for IE6 and IE7.

On superfish menus, I found a resolution in http://drupal.org/node/363803 #6 (http://webdemar.com/webdesign/superfish-jquery-menu-ie-z-index-bug/), but was unable to get it to work. Any suggestions and/or cookbook approach to fixing the superfish menu issue in IE6 and IE7 would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not going to look at this until someone gives me a link to their site, I cannot solve this without seeing what you have done.

thx jmbrunz. I'm just beginning to look at panels 2 so I don't have a link. However, I can tell you that I got the superfish menu issue resolved in IE6 and IE7 by playing around with the z-index in style.css. I also have to say Pixture-Reloaded is awesome. @roryrawlings, please post your CSS fix using z-index for the others to look at, if they view your site and can learn from your CSS you can help many others who may encounter this issue, thanks. Good effort with the header and theme in general, well done!

Well i managed to fix most of the problems just by turning on "Optimize CSS Files" under "Performance". IE6 and IE7 can only load a certain number of CSS files before it gives up, the combination of Superfish Menus and Panels it just to much CSS for IE.

There is a bug for me with Panel Pages and Pixture Reloaded (6.x-3.0).

The upper line of the teaser border misses a segment. This happens in both firefox 3 and ie 7.

I experience this with two different installations.

I attached a screenshot to this post.

Would be great if somebody could have a look into it.

@sdk, hard for me to help without seeing your site, although I'm not convinced thats a Panels issue, how wide is your page?

If you scroll down to recent posts, this is were the lines are broken.

I got that this only happens when the panel is divided in 3 columns, with 2 there seems to be no problem.

And viewing the site from another computer it seems fine as well.

My guess is you have a pretty wide screen, that is why they are breaking, consider using a fixed width or you will need to replace the images used for the node borders, which can only be "so" big to support most sites, since you have them full width and a percentage width they will break at some stage.

I am having issues (using 3.2) with Panels and stylesheets working in general. When I set up the home page to use Panels and then drop in "Who's online" or some other block or custom HTML that refers to the classes in the stylesheet all I get is plain text. I am using a Flexible layout if that matters. The HTML for the Who's New is <h2 class="pane-title">Who's new </h2>, so it looks like the classes are in there properly but all I get is the text of the header no color or anything. Everything is fine on the left and right columns.

Panels 3 has a CSS section that might be what is lacking here. I just don't know what to put in it. There is a CSS ID and a CSS class that can be set. I am not sure what the values should be or whether they should be left blank and pulled from the context of the page.
