In fixing #3100066: "Convert line breaks into HTML" filter should exclude <drupal-media> tag, @lauriii had this to say on Slack:

... wondering if we should open a follow-up to make the value configurable somehow so that if contrib needed to create their own HTML tag, they could add it too

That seems like a good, interesting idea. So I have opened this follow-up to discuss whether, and how, to implement such a thing.
