Great module while the #2429699: Add Views EntityReference filter to be available for all entity reference fields issue is taking so long to be solved and now is not compatible with 8.8.x core version.

  1. Group module is properly installed and configured.
  2. I have an entity reference view referencing all available groups on the site.
  3. That entity reference view is added as an entity reference field on the article content type... So every article on the site has a field referencing it to one specific Group.
  4. I have created a simple view displaying all articles on the site with a filter to filter that view by Group.

I was trying with the help of this module to convert that filter from simple text field into a drop down select list

is that module works with Group entity or only with the node entity ? Because I failed to find a way to make it work with the Group Entity !

Hi CEA,

Yeah Ive been kind of amazed what a long shelf life some of my "temporary" modules have had while core issues have languished in debate.

As far as the Group module, I honestly havent tried the module at all on any of my sites so I dont know how compatible it is. This module runs a query on related nodes and finds their titles, so I would guess it would work with group if the groups were nodes, but that doesnt seem to be the case. maybe you could try some type of node relationship based on the group relationship perhaps?

Sorry i dont have more time to investigate this atm but im swamped. if you do find a solution be sure to report back for others while the core issue drags on
