Hi,

this module prohibits an update to Drupal 8.8:

"require": {
    "drupal/core": "~8.7.0"
}

Will you update the module in order to make an update possible?

Yes - 8.8 should just work. Regarding the media_directories_ui sub-module it could be that some errors will be thrown.

I'll review myself and push an updated soon. Thanks for your finding!

I saw one error with the editor integration (media_directories_editor module), which does not make it stop working but pollutes the logs .. need to investigate, follow #3099283: 8.8 compability
