I have been trying to work through some issues with this module and in the course of doing so have made a number of small updates, which I am posting here for general benefit. Mostly it is "code quality" improvements - clarity, docs etc. One of the larger changes is the inclusion of a 'logger' in the utils.

I've done a number of changes on the 3.0.x that it'll be impossible to cross reference. I am saving credit though. If there are features missing in 3.0.x please open a new ticket.

Recommend scheduled_transitions though, I'm just working on this for a client project.
