Problem/Motivation

In #3085908: Media library thumbnails are blurry/skewed in IE11 we're adding work-arounds to make the media library + widget render thumbnails nicely on IE11.
We should remove all that cruft once core officially drops IE11 support.

Proposed resolution

Remove the cruft when the time comes.

Remaining tasks

  1. Wait (patiently) for core to drop IE11 support and for that browser to die off.
  2. Revert the changes from #3085908.
  3. Review.
  4. RTBC.
  5. Commit.
  6. Rejoice.

The changes in #3085908: Media library thumbnails are blurry/skewed in IE11 was closed as won't fix, therefor there is nothing to revert. Closing as outdated.
