If I contribute to some module for example "Migrate" with a commit, and this is approved, I can see it in my profile forever:

But I do the same with "Drupal Core" only I can see:

But when the year is over, it disappears.

Can we get the credit for committing to "Drupal core" like this is our profile forever:

One is about being commit author, and can only be given to one user. Core doesn't do that because most issues involve more than one contributor. If you're looking for a persistent list, you can for example use http://www.drupalcores.com/.
